PVODA was founded from a personal journey—one that began with my own struggle with chronic dry eye. Like many, I tried artificial tears, hoping for relief, but the effects were only temporary. Long-term use of anti-inflammatory medications was not a viable solution for me, leading me to explore alternative treatments that focused on addressing the root cause rather than just masking symptoms.
Through extensive research, I discovered holistic therapies that not only rejuvenated the meibomian glands responsible for healthy tear production but also offered remarkable benefits for the skin. I found a strong connection between skin inflammation—such as rosacea—and ocular inflammation, which is a major contributor to dry eye. This realization set me on a path to explore advanced treatment options that addressed both concerns simultaneously
After experimenting with various Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machines, I found the most effective results with the Envision(The Lumecca IPL/ the Forma-1 RF system) by InMode. The Radiofrequency(RF) utilized in Forma-1 is bipolar RF which allows us to freely treat without a grounding plate. RF allows us to treat different skin types on the Fitzpatrick scale which is limited with IPL treatments. In addition, it helps rejuvenate the glands and heat up the oils in the glands that create a healthy tear film. What also sets this technology apart was its ability to deliver exceptional rejuvenation outcomes for dry eye treatment incorporating radiofrequency (RF) microneedling to stimulate collagen in aiding restructuring the glands as well. The RF microneedling also stimulates collagen/elastin in skin and remodels adipose tissue. This dual approach allowed me to not only treat dry eye but also provide powerful anti-aging skin benefits.
Recognizing the impact of diet, supplementation, and lifestyle on both skin and eye health, I became committed to a comprehensive, whole-body approach. This led to the creation of Primavitale (PV)—a company I founded with my brother to promote healthy aging through holistic treatments. As my expertise in ocular dermatological aesthetics grew, I developed a specialized division within PV, PVODA (Primavitale Ocular Dermatological Aesthetics), focusing on the intersection of advanced eye care and aesthetic treatments.
